Friday, January 17, 2025 - Noah Scurry, a 17-year-old high school basketball star from Pennsylvania, tragically lost his life this week after he was shot just steps from his home. The Philadelphia Police Department reported that the fatal incident took place around 7:15 AM on Tuesday, January 14, while Scurry was on his way to Samuel Fels High School.
The motive for the sh00ting remains unclear, and authorities
have confirmed that an investigation is underway. "No arrests have been
made," the Philadelphia Police Department stated, "and no weapon was
recovered."
Scurry, a senior and captain of the boys' basketball team at
Samuel Fels High School, was being recruited by colleges, according to his
cousin, Breanna McGlynn. In light of the tragic event, the school's basketball
games for the week have been canceled.
In a statement, SFHS principal Melissa Rasper described
Scurry as more than just an accomplished basketball player, noting that he
recently achieved the highest SAT scores at the school. "Our deepest
condolences and thoughts go out to the family and friends of this
student," Rasper said.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist Scurry's family
with funeral expenses.
