Saturday, September 25, 2026 - Mikayla Matthews is standing by her decision to leave Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, even after Taylor Frankie Paul announced that she was stepping away from the reality series.
Matthews confirmed on Instagram that she will not be returning, saying her decision was based on multiple concerns that have not changed. Her announcement comes as the cast faces renewed attention following a turbulent period surrounding the show.
Matthews initially announced her departure in September after learning that Paul would return for Season 6. She said she had agreed to film only if Paul was not involved and later described her concerns about the situation as both personal and ethical.
Matthews also said she had repeatedly raised those concerns with people involved in the production before deciding to leave.
Paul subsequently announced on September 21 that she no longer wanted to move forward with Mormon Wives, citing ongoing conflict with fellow cast members. Despite that development, Matthews says Paul's exit does not change her position.
She indicated that there are broader issues surrounding the situation and suggested that significant changes would need to happen before she could reconsider her future with the show.
