Saturday, September 19, 2026 -President Donald Trump has barred CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from the White House, alleging propaganda by the major news networks and website.
Trump accused the outlets of reporting “fake news” about his
administration, stating they “shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report
fiction or lies” when covering the President.
In a statement via his social media platform TruthSocial,
the President indicated that other “fake” media organizations would face a
similar ban.
Trump claimed Politico received “an illegal and ridiculous
$8 million subscription” from the U.S. Government under former President Joe
Biden “in order to keep them alive”.
During a presser in the Oval Office, Trump defended
his decision when a reporter reminded him that every President takes an oath to
uphold the Constitution.
“You get so
tired of reading and seeing fake news…there may be others to join them,” the
U.S. leader hinted. “Our country has to have honest news.”
Another
reporter asked if he was trying to intimidate the press from doing its job,
Trump replied: “No, no, no. I dislike dishonest press like you. I think you are
terrible.”
He argued that a court should not allow fake news to be
written every day, saying “somebody has a right to keep them away if they are
going to write false stories all the time.”
On his latest approval rating by Fox, the President declared
the platform has the “worst polls in the whole business,” and should have
gotten rid of their pollsters years ago.
Trump further described the Washington Post as “disgusting,”
while insisting his administration isn’t repressive. “We don’t repress, but
they write fake news,” he said.
