MARK CONSUELOS reveals he's undergoing "major" surgery

Sunday, September 27, 2026 - Mark Consuelos has revealed that he is undergoing surgery after putting off the procedure for about a year.

The Live with Kelly and Mark co-host made the announcement during the September 25 episode, explaining that doctors need to address a painful arthritic condition affecting his big toe. He said the problem has become serious enough that he needs treatment. 

Consuelos was scheduled to undergo the procedure immediately after filming the show. While Kelly Ripa joked that the operation was essentially a “pedicure,” Consuelos pushed back, insisting that it was major surgery.

He also joked about his recovery plans, including potentially decorating his medical boot, while Ripa said she would help look after him following the operation. 

The announcement has quickly drawn attention from fans as Consuelos prepares for recovery. He has previously discussed foot problems connected to years of playing soccer and underwent an earlier foot procedure.

For now, his focus is on treating the painful arthritis and getting back on his feet, with reports indicating he is not expected to take an extended break from Live with Kelly and Mark.
